Thursday, August 1

In keeping with our 2019-2020 Connectional Theme, “Economic Justice,” we will focus on specific prayer and action points on the topic of HBCUs and AME Schools in the months of July and August.

Pray for additional resources to be directed to Historically Black Colleges and Universities and AME Schools and Institutions of Higher Education, to support their administration and programs.

Pray for increased enrollments. Pray for increased confidence in the quality of education administered by HBCUs and AME schools and that negative opinions will be disproved.

Pray for the safety of students, teachers, and administrators during the summer break, that they will balance rest and recreation and be refreshed for another school year.

Commit to being invested in promoting HBCUs and AME schools as reputable institutions of learning and spreading information for wider visibility and awareness. Commit to supporting these institutions financially and with your presence.

 David and Jonathan Enter Covenant

1 Samuel 20:12-17 NRSV

Thus Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, “May the Lord seek out the enemies of David.” (1 Samuel 20:16)

Faithful friends are difficult to come by; be kind to your friends.

Pray for the Women’s Missionary Society Quadrennial Convention being held in Columbus, Ohio.
