Brothers Provided Water to Wash Feet
Genesis 43:20-25 NRSV
When the steward had brought water, and they had washed their feet, and when he had given their donkeys fodder, they made the present ready for Joseph’s coming at noon, for they had heard that they would dine there. Genesis 43:24-25
Ultimately, hate did not consume Joseph. He offered what a heart full of strife could not give — love and hospitality.

Laban Arranges to Wash Servant’s Feet
Genesis 24:24-33 NRSV
So the man came into the house; and Laban unloaded the camels, and gave him straw and fodder for the camels, and water to wash his feet and the feet of the men who were with him. Genesis 24:32
Unaware of the nature of his guest’s presence, Laban offers hospitality. We’re not always aware of who is in our presence so always extend equal hospitality!

The Life of Love
1 Corinthians 13 NRSV
If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:3
The act of giving love doesn’t equate to a loss. Rather, giving love is the act of planting seeds that will eventually yield a harvest.

Pray with the Mind and Spirit
1 Corinthians 14:13-19 NRSV
What should I do then? I will pray with the spirit, but I will pray with the mind also; I will sing praise with the spirit, but I will sing praise with the mind also. 1 Corinthians 14:15
Prayer is an exercise that requires more than just closed eyes and a bowed head. Prayer of the heart involves our mind and spirit.
