Ask and It Is Yours!

Matthew 7:7-11 NRSV

Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.  (Matthew 7:7)

Asked and given, sought and found, knocked on and opened; how do these match up with your testimony to God’s faithfulness and the power of prayer?

Justice for Those Who Pray Fervently

Luke 18:1-8 NRSV

I tell you, he will quickly grant justice to them. And yet, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” (Luke 18:8)

Pray and work for justice; in God’s time, God will surely grant it.

Jesus Prays for Future Believers

John 17:20-26 NRSV

I made your name known to them, and I will make it known, so that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.” (John 17:26)

Just as Jesus prayed for future believers, we are called to pray for those who are yet to believe that they might experience and embrace the love with which he gives to us.

A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you; and I will remove from your body the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.  (Ezekiel 36:26)

When we place our lives fully in the hands of God, God can create something new and more wonderful for our ultimate benefit and for God’s glory.
