Sunday, May 31 DAY OF PENTECOST
Respond with Love and Justice Daily
Hosea 11:1-2, 7-10; 12:1-2, 6-14 NRSV
But as for you, return to your God, hold fast to love and justice, and wait continually for your God. (Hosea 12:6)
Prayer: God, on this Pentecost, empower us through your Holy Spirit to live with love and justice as our mission daily. Help us to keep your word before us, that we might not grow weary in doing your work. AMEN.

Once a Slave; Now a Brother
Philemon 1:8-21 NRSV
For this reason, though I am bold enough in Christ to command you to do your duty (Philemon 1:8)
If Christ has set you free, live in the spirit of liberty by setting others free!

Ephraim Spurns God’s Love and Suffers
Hosea 11:3-6 NRSV
They shall return to the land of Egypt, and Assyria shall be their king, because they have refused to return to me. (Hosea 11:5)
God delivers us from certain situations for a reason. Be careful not to fall back into the past.
Thursday, May 28
Jesus a Migrant from Egypt
Matthew 2:13-15 NRSV
Now after they had left, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you; for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him.” (Matthew 2:13)
God always has a Master plan. God delivered Israel from Egypt in times past, but now used Egypt to provide refuge to the Savior of the world.

Prayer: God, help me to choose life over death. Help me to stay in the way that leads to abundant living. AMEN.
