Christ, Mediator of the New Covenant
Hebrews 9:11-22 NRSV
For this reason, he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, because a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions under the first covenant. (Hebrews 9:15)
We are people of the new covenant. Redeemed, forgiven, freed. No longer bound by the old covenant. Ain’t that good enough news? Praise God, Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer!

Christ, the Final Sacrifice for Sin
Hebrews 9:23-28 NRSV
(H)e would have had to suffer again and again since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the age to remove sin by the sacrifice of himself. (Hebrews 9:26)
Christ sacrificed himself to set us free from the prison of sin. Move forward!
In keeping with our 2018-2019 Connectional Theme, “Environmental Justice,” we will focus on specific prayer and action points on the topic of Fracking throughout this month.
Pray that the state of California will be spared from plans to expand the practice of fracking in that state.
Pray for resources to be made available that governments could invest in environmentally-friendly alternative sources of energy and rely less on fracking, and strike a balance between economic and environmental concerns.
Initiate an “Environmental Justice” column in your church’s newsletter, eblast, or social media to share information and spread awareness on the practice of fracking and other topics.

The Time Has Come
Hebrews 9:1-10 NRSV
This is a symbol of the present time, during which gifts and sacrifices are offered that cannot perfect the conscience of the worshiper. (Hebrews 9:9)
Something in your heart preventing you from wholehearted giving and offering praises to God? Ask God to release you.

Hallelujah! Thank you, Jesus! We have full access. Hallelujah!

Redeemed and Purified
Titus 2:11-15 NRSV
He it is who gave himself for us that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify for himself a people of his own who are zealous for good deeds. (Titus 2:14)
Just as Jesus was created for a very special purpose, God gifted you to be used in some area of service. God made you uniquely to fulfill that purpose. Go for it!
