David’s Son Came to Serve
Matthew 20:25-34
Jesus stood still and called them, saying, “What do you want me to do for you?” They said to him, “Lord, let our eyes be opened.” Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes. Immediately they regained their sight and followed him. Matthew 20:32-34 NRSV
They hymn writer must have had a birds-eye view of this scene when writing the plea, “Pass me not, O gentle savior, hear my humble cry. While on others thou art calling, do not pass me by.
