Honor Your Elders
1 Timothy 5:17-22 NRSV
Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching. (1 Timothy 5:17)
We should be kind to those who serve in leadership in our churches, despite our opinions. Allow God to be advocate and judge.
Your voice: Lord, I repent of ugly words and thoughts I have spoken and conceived about those you call to leadership. Guide me in the course I should take when I encounter those feelings. Amen.
In keeping with our 2018 – 2019 Connectional Theme, “Economic Justice” we will focus on specific prayer and action points on the topic of Job Opportunity and Training in the months of October and November.
Pray that jobs will not be displaced or eliminated as a result of gentrification in minority communities.
Offer your skills to organizations which pool human and other resources to benefit minorities.
