Mary Magdalene, Faithful Female Disciple
Luke 8:1-3; Mark 15:40; John 20:10-18 NRSV
But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb; and she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had been lying, one at the head and the other at the feet. (John 20:11-12)
Love, for what we lose may consume us emotionally; but, God’s love for us provides restoration for our disappointment.
Today is not only a day when we celebrate love, but a day of liberation as we honor the birth of the founder of the A.M.E. Church, Bishop Richard Allen.
