Saul Promises to Preserve David’s Life
1 Samuel 19:1-7 NRSV
Saul heeded the voice of Jonathan; Saul swore, “As the Lord lives, he shall not be put to death.” 1 Samuel 19:6
Solomon’s intervention spared David from Saul’s wrath; and, God’s hand was in place to spare David’s life.
*On World Communion Sunday, let us pray for the unity of world leaders and their constituents, families fractured by injustice, and systems that have created cycles of inequity.
