Today we acknowledge the observance of the U.S.A.’s Independence. We pray for those who are not free from social and systemic oppression. We remember those who are sacrificing and have sacrificed their lives for freedom for all. We lift up voices for those who are voiceless and lack an advocate.
Wisdom’s Invitation to Come and Rest
Matthew 11: 25-30 NRSV
“Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
Never underestimate the power of rest. If Christ rested before calming a storm, we can rest after giving Christ our burdens.
