Mary, in the Lineage of Ruth
Ruth 4:9-17 NRSV
Then all the people who were at the gate, along with the elders, said, “We are witnesses. May the Lord make this woman who is coming into your house like Rachel and Leah, who together built up the house of Israel. May you produce children in Ephrathah and bestow a name in Bethlehem;” (Ruth 4:11)
Remember to tell the story of the women whose shoulders Mary stood on, even as you recall those whose shoulders carried you.
Today is observed as International Universal Health Coverage Day. Let us pray and work towards a day when all persons will have access to quality and efficient healthcare, leaving no one without adequate protection.
