God Will Appoint a Shepherd
Ezekiel 34:17-31
I will set up over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he shall feed them: he shall feed them and be their shepherd. Ezekiel 34:23 NRSV
The hymnwriter, Alexcenah Thomas, painted an image when she penned these words: “Hark! ‘Tis the Shepherd’s voice I hear, Out in the desert dark and drear, Calling the sheep who’ve gone astray, Far from the Shepherd’s fold away. Bring them in, bring them in. Bring them in from the fields of sin…”
