Miracle of the Meal and Oil
1 Kings 17:8-16 NRSV
The jar or meal was not emptied, neither did the jug of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord that he spoke by Elijah. (1 Kings 17:16)
God never fails in God’s provision. The jar and the jug represent that which is needed to sustain life. God’s miracle would not allow them to fail for the widow’s sake.
