The Written Law and the Ark of Wood
Deuteronomy 10:1-11
Then he wrote on the tablets the same words as before, the ten commandments that the LORD had spoken to you on the mountain out of the fire on the day of assembly; and the LORD gave them to me. Deuteronomy 10:4 NRSV
The tablets were given to us as a labor of love. But love is more than tablets; it is a commitment to fidelity while in community.
